My name is Alecia Shepherd, and I am a speech language pathologist who has been serving my community for 15 years. During this time, I found a huge need for supporting families with challenges that may come with infant-toddler feeding. I have received extensive education and experience, and I am now very excited to introduce my new private practice to work to meet this need.
Feeding Foundations is a practice to bring together all needs with infant and toddler feeding to aid families and meet their outcomes. My passion is to bring together all things oral function and infant-toddler development. My goal is to educate caregivers and offer strategies to bring calm to the chaos and ensure babies get the movement, experiences, input and nourishment they need to be happy, healthy, and thriving!
I am specially trained in therapeutic bottle-feeding strategies, a TummyTime!™ Method Instructor, (TOTS) Tethered Oral Tissues Specialty Trained, breast-feeding support and highly educated in the transition to solids and the challenges it may present. In addition, I am a SOFFI (Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants) certified professional. This training offers strategies and support as our medically fragile littles make the difficult transition from ng and g-tubes to oral feeding.
I look forward to continue working to support families. I hope to provide compassion and strategies as I bring this important and needed service to our community.
